Little Books

I found these small books, handmade in Nepal, in the SERRV catalog and couldn't resist. I ordered a bunch for Liz Cronan's 5th graders at Sugar Loaf Elementary, and sometime next week they should be receiving their New Year gifts. I've ordered another round, so if these small books show up at some point on your doorstep, you'll know who sent them.

Each page could hold a word. Or a haiku written tiny. This could be a great way to work through writer's block. One small page at a time.




A book in the hand is worth more than------fill in the blank!

And you're a Pirates of Penzance fan? We have the DVD -- almost worn out from being watched weekly at one time -- my boys and I love it on a level with Monty Python, and that's saying a lot. Absolutely Kevin Kline's finest hour -- well, that and FISH CALLED WANDA.

Brenda, I've been intrigued by handmade books for along time. These tiny ones really captivated me. I'll have to send you one, and I want to have your new work on this blog very soon.
Vicki, Pirates is one of my all-time faves, and K. Kline is fab as the Pirate King---also in FISH. Maybe I should listen to this every other day, for my health--esp. the Pirate King song--great sing-along, and the poor nurse commissioned to a pilot but ends up with----a pirate. How could anyone manage to sing Modern Major General? How agile would your tonge have to be?????? Love it. Could go on and on about it.
What is Ronstadt doing these days?

I love Pirates too, and any Gilbert & Sullivan. Grew up on them and, in college, played in the pit orchestra for several... you really learn the words that way. Tarantara!
